AIR FORCE LINKS UP WITH LINK TOOL SYSTEM

Link Tools recently made its first shipment of tools to Ramstein Air Force base, located outside of Frankfort, Germany.  Ramstein, the home of the 86th Airlift Wing and Headquarters of US Air Forces Europe. The base is responsible for the operation and maintenance of airlift assets including C-130s, C-9s, C-20s and C-21s.

The use of the unique Link locking system curtails dropped or stuck sockets which are particularly disruptive and dangerous in aviation maintenance.  An additional benefit found in the Link system and verified by testing, is that repetitive use of Link Tools is less stressful to the muscles, nerves and skeletal systems than standard tool systems.

In the world of aviation the Link Quick-Lock efficiency and time saving values has earned them kudos from the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical  University, the Aviation Technical Education Council and Purdue University’s aviation program.   NASA has also used Link Tools in the maintenance of the space shuttles.

Link’s ‘link’ to military operations has increased over the past five years.  Link Quick-Lock technology was honored as a Great Idea at a presentation conducted by the 2002 Department of Defense Maintenance Symposium.  An evaluation from the Iowa Army National Guard, the organization charged with maintaining the Army’s fleet of tanks, cited the locking mechanical action of the Link Tool system as ‘an ideal means to keep a complicated assembly of wrenches, extensions and  u-joints with a socket together.

Army personnel noted that a dropped socket can be a “mission stopper”.  This was particularly critical during the conflict in Iraq which put a premium on the uninterrupted flow of tanks from the borders to Baghdad.

Link Tools recently received a “Q-Mark” from TUV Rheinland, a premiere European professional approval organization.  The awarding of the “Q-Mark” from TUV Rheinland signifies that a product has met standards of superior quality, safety and versatility.  The award for Link Tools was made for both quality and ergonomic excellence.

Link Tools are offered in 41 piece 3/8” and 1/4” sets.  Both 41 pieces sets come in a lightweight, easy to spot carrying case.  Link Tools also offers other sets and individual open stock tools as well as a  versatile, 10 piece Homeowner set.    In addition to military applications, Link Tools have been reviewed and praised by experts in numerous  publications dedicated to the automotive, boating and manufacturing industries.
