How are LINK's mechanic tools different from my old style tools?
Old style tools connect using a ball bearing which often lets go and comes undone under stress and in tight quarters. All LINK Tools connect using a case hardened steel pin actuated by a spring-loaded collar which automatically locks every tool together with a single push on. Users consider this design a technological breakthrough for mechanics' hand tools.

Will the pin slip?
No. The harder you pull, the harder the pin locks, making it virtually impossible to slip or disconnect.

Must I buy LINK sockets and bits?
No. LINK Tools work with all the quality brands of detent sockets you already own.

Do other companies offer locking tools?
No other tool company makes a complete line of drive tools that all lock together. Some companies claim to make locking extension bars, but only LINK gives you the efficiency and safety of hand-to-work locking with all your tools.

How will LINK tools increase my productivity?
There are a number of design features that contribute to increased productivity. Rapid one-handed attachment and one-handed release save time in selecting and changing sockets and bits. Substantial productivity gains also come from eliminating broken connections, dropped bits and sockets, and sockets or bits that stay attached when the tool is pulled out of the work. Old style u-joints are a particular problem because they continually require time to reconnect; the LINK locking u-joint can save significant task time whenever they are used. The extensive line of locking components allows one to create a custom tool for every job. That allows the user to work from the most efficient and comfortable posture which decreases the time needed for any job. Since the tools lock, it is much easier for the user to get the tool into hard to reach places.

Are there independent tests to support LINK's productivity claims?
Yes. Detailed tests have been conducted in the U.S. and Europe. In a three-month U.S. Army Aviation comparison test, LINK Tools reduced task times by 25%-50%. The Army understands the importance of reducing maintenance times for aircraft and vehicles. For the mechanic that uses the tools on a daily basis, it means they can increase their billable hours by 33%-100%. If the mechanic bills at a $45 hourly rate, he can potentially pay for 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" sets in just a few weeks.

In Europe, the international quality organization TÜV awarded its highest certification - the "Q-Mark" - for quality, durability and ergonomics. When TÜV's extensive user testing showed LINK tools' ability to significantly improve task performance while also significantly reducing body strain, it received a second Q-Mark for productivity and safety.

Don Garltis - drag racing legend "Big Daddy" was asked to test the tools in automotive applications. He was so impressed he offered his endorsement at no charge. He feels LINK Tools provide a paradigm shift in productivity and calls them the "next generation" hand tools.

How does the tool improve user safety and health?
There are generally two ways users are hurt. One - if the tool disconnects, the users hand or arm may become lacerated, burned or bruised. The same risks, and further delays, are presented by the resulting need for tool retrieval. Two - users are often required to strain their backs and arms in awkward positions in order to keep the ball detent connections from separating. The National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH) has published a number of studies that note the musculoskeletal effects workers endure when forced into straining positions. The Army's study had no disconnects in three months. The Army projected this will equate to a 40% reduction in injuries. TÜV testing confirmed significant reduction in impact on the body, relieving chronic strain, stiffness and pain.

Do LINK Tools offer other tool differences?
Yes. LINK's UniDriver® and Ratcheting UniDriver have female ends so they may also be used as extension bars. Both UniDrivers have a solid steel interior shaft for unmatched strength. The palm wrench was designed to help mechanics get into tight places where other tools can't go. The palm wrench also has a female end and may be used as a speeder or extension bar. The locking u-joint and lo-profile locking u-joints turn the tool chests most fickle accessory into an effective tool. Just to name a few.

Besides worker safety and productivity are there other benefits of the locking feature?
Yes. A number of industries have critical requirements that LINK can help them meet. Industries such as the nuclear power industry and aviation industry require certifications of tool counts so no component in a disconnection is left behind. LINK's locking system helps eliminate the issue of lost components, reducing Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and supporting Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) requirements.

Where is the tool made?
LINK Tools are designed in the U.S. and LINK is an American Company. Our objective is to source the highest quality materials to continue to provide customers with super tools and tool innovations that improve task performance and safety. At this time, LINK tools are made in the U.S. and Taiwan.

What strength specification are LINK Tools designed to?
LINK Tools are the highest professional grade - meeting at least 130% of all government strength standards.

What is LINK's warranty?
The product is warranted to the original purchaser or registered owner for as long as he or she owns it, against defects in materials, manufacture or assembly. Tools may be mailed to LINK Tools International or brought to your local distributor.
